Did you know voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant can help older adults create social connection? Used in intentional ways, they can foster a sense of belonging, wellbeing, and assistance.
In 2024, we had the honour of hosting Dr Valerie Jones from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (USA) during her Fulbright fellowship, where she conducted research on how seniors use voice assistant technology (Google Home, Amazon Alexa and the likes) to support social connection. π€π¬
This year, Valerie is visiting again, and this time sheβs teaming up with our very own Jasmine Knox for a workshop: Using Voice Assistants for Social Connection! π
